Search the news!
SouthComb collects news stories about the South from over 250 newspapers from states considered part of the U.S. South. Search for news by keyword, by region or by subject category. Remember, we provide results for both the individual RSS news feed AND the newspaper source itself.

SouthComb's Latest Feature
Are you looking for documents from a particular archive? Are you looking for a specific website? First, run a keyword search. Did you find what you are looking for? If not, use the facets on the right of the screen to filter your search by a particular Archive or Web Source. Because SouthComb collects records from so many sources, only the first 5 are shown. Click on the the "see more" button and the list will expand to include all sources related to your search.

Recommend a Source
SouthComb works very hard to include web sources and digital archives that contribute to the Southern Studies Community. Do you have a website or digital collection you would like for SouthComb to search? Have you browsed our list of sources and see a collection missing? If yes, please contact us so that we can add it to our search.

Search SouthComb by State
SouthComb's latest feature includes searching our records by state. When you first come to the SouthComb website, use the map to find records that refer to the selected state. The shading on the map represents the total number of records associated with each state. North Carolina and South Carolina have the highest number of records with each state having over 100,000 records.
